HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: The NH Naarden (0031 35 0951514). You will be able to view it on: www.nh-hotels.com

TOURNAMENT ADDRESS: FC Almere, Sportpark de Marken, Oosterdreef 8, Almere Haven, Tel. +31 36 5403030

E111 CARD AND PASSPORT:

Give their EHIC cards to Seth Felton or Steve Price at training. These are available online. All boys must have these or they will not be able to play.

All boys need their own PASSPORTS valid for travel within the EU with more than 6 months till they expire. Put a sticker on the back of the passport with your son’s name on. We have to collect them in and give them out a few times – it makes things easier.

MOBILE PHONES: The boys must not bring mobile phones with them. You will have my and your son’s team manager’s mobiles if you need to contact us. We have yours if we need to contact you.

MEDICATION: All medications required by your son over the period of the trip should be given to Roy Muscat at the airport or before we travel.  Please label the dosage, type of medication and the boy’s name clearly on the container.  Poor travelers should be ‘dosed’ with their normal medication and give some to the staff for the homeward journey (again labeled). Boys who use inhalers should carry their own.  We suggest you give ROY a named spare inhaler - just in case he loses his! (Not unheard of!)

SPENDING MONEY - Your son is responsible for the safety of his money throughout the trip. We suggest he has about £10 of English money and €30 of Euros.  There may be time at Schipol or at SV Almere. If he loses money he must report the fact to the staff immediately.

HAND-LUGGAGE - Bring something to read – footy magazines and puzzle books are best – do not bring anything you are not prepared to lose or break!! No PSPs, DS’s etc. Have a packed lunch in their hand-luggage to eat at the airport before we fly. NO LIQUIDS though. They can get some water / juice once through passport control.

CLOTHES FOR TRAVELLING - Travel in the team tracksuit and polo shirt and trainers. The ‘uniform’ allows our staff to identify the boys immediately in a crowd. Bring a cap.

THE TOURNAMENT - The boys will play in the E Tournament at FC Almere. Typically this will be 8 or 9 games over the weekend.

LUGGAGE

Bring one clearly labelled bag/case with a red ribbon attached for easy identification.

This bag/case should be clearly labelled as follows:

BOYS NAME

LIVERPOOL SCHOOLS FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION PARTY,

NH Naarden

Naarden

He also requires one more label with his home address for the journey home.

Inside the bag/case there should be:

Conduct – we don’t expect any of this to happen, but we have to mention it just in case.

The trip should be viewed much as you would view any normal school trip. It just happens we are going to play football. As a result, we are in “Loco Parentis” – which means we are their parents while away. If you are coming to support the team please respect the responsibility we have. Leave the boys to us throughout the day and enjoy yourselves. There will be a few hours after the last game to give them a hug! Until then though we would ask you not to buy the boys food, ice-cream, drinks etc. They need to nibble often during the day, not eat a lot at once. Also, under no circumstances should the boys be taken off the site without our permission.

Please remember that parents who attend the tournament are responsible for their own behaviour and that of any friends or family who accompany them. Although Dutch refereeing is strange at times, any insulting, aggressive or abusive behaviour or foul and abusive language by parents, friends or family will result in their boy taking no further part in the tournament and the possibility that their son will handed over to them. It would then be the parent’s responsibility to collect luggage from the hotel, find accommodation (if necessary) and arrange for travel home.

Parents are responsible for themselves in terms of all flights, accommodation, getting to the tournament etc. Addresses & Directions will be provided to all travelling.
